WRITER, EDITOR, TRANSLATOR (FR>EN)

An adopted Parisian from Oxford, I have mastered the art of creative storytelling that grabs the attention of any audience, as well as translation that bridges linguistic and societal gaps.

After kicking off my career in ad agencies and science journals, I made the leap into freelance writing and translation in 2020. With a diverse network of clients from the luxury sector to academia, I have honed my skills on science essays, film scripts, digital content, and more.

WRITER, EDITOR & TRANSLATOR

WRITER

The Rambler

As writer and researcher for The Rambler, an aggregator of papers and articles from across the sciences, I researched recently published studies and wrote short, stylized teasers to attract readers. The Rambler achieved a high click-through rate — over twenty-five percent of visitors clicked on at least one link.

TRANSLATOR & EDITOR

Inference

As editor and translator at Inference, I brought niche concepts to a wider audience. Through extensive research, I ensured that my explanations aligned seamlessly with the author's findings and the essay's overarching vision. Samples of my work for this project include:

Enigmatic mathematician Alexander Grothendieck wrote his frenzied, paranoid text Récoltes et Semailles in the mid-1980s. For this essay, his erstwhile collaborator Pierre Schapira reviewed the 2022 Gallimard re-issue of the text. I then edited the essay and translated it into English. My translation was reviewed by Columbia physicist Peter Woit on his blog, here.

TRANSLATOR & EDITOR

Sur les pas de la déesse Artémis / The Footsteps of Artemis — Denis Knoepfler

After a centuries-long search, archeologists finally located a lost sanctuary for Artemis. Denis Knoepfler was part of the initial team that made this groundbreaking discovery. I edited and translated Knoepfler's essay from French into English for Inference.

TRANSLATOR & EDITOR

Je suis tel que je me fais / Self-Made — Jean-Paul Fitoussi

How does the philosophy of individual choice affect economic thought? Famed French economist Jean-Paul Fitoussi reviews Richard Robb's Wilfull: How We Choose What We Do. This essay required significant back and forth with the author to finally achieve an essay that all parties were happy with. I then translated this essay from French to English.

TRANSLATOR & EDITOR

Médecine de catastrophe / Battlefield Medecine — Benjamin Davido

At the height of the COVID-19 epidemic I worked alongside Benjamin Davido, a doctor at a Parisian hospital and vaccine expert, to produce a critical essay on Europe's regulatory response to the Astrazeneca vaccine. I edited the original French version of this essay for style, consistency and veracity, before translating it into English.

EDITOR

Letters Section

As lead editor for Inference's letter section, where experts wrote short critical responses to previously published essays, I kept the letters on topic, edited for house style — a slightly deviated form of CMoS — and formatted footnotes.

TRANSLATOR &

EDITOR

Translator on an ongoing project for BRAHMS, IRCAM's composer database. IRCAM is part of the Centre Pompidou and is dedicated to the research of music and sound, especially in the fields of avant garde and electro-acoustical art music.
